19th Research Challenges in Information Science

Advancing Information Science and Information Systems Quality in the Era of Complexity

Seville, Spain, 20 - 23 May, 2025

Research Projects

RCIS 2025 features a track entirely devoted to presenting future or ongoing research projects (e.g., H2020 or ERC projects, national grants) in the context of information science. This track features a great opportunity for presenters to get feedback before submitting a research project or to disseminate the intermediate results of their projects, and for participants to get an updated view of innovative ongoing research while getting in touch with potential research partners.

The Research Projects @RCIS Track follows a two-step publication process. Firstly, the authors should submit a short paper (5-8 pages) summarizing the project's objectives and relevant results. Each submission will be peer reviewed on the relevance of the submitted paper in the context of RCIS. If the paper is accepted, the authors must register for the conference to present their work at the “Research Projects @ RCIS” session at RCIS. Furthermore, the accepted short papers will be published by CEUR proceedings using the 1-column CEUR-ART style (http://ceur-ws.org/HOWTOSUBMIT.html).

Beyond the special topic for RCIS 2025, the conference welcomes Research Projects submissions from any domain of Information Science. The list of interested topics includes, but is not limited to:

Review Process

Each submission will be reviewed by at least 2 members of the RCIS scientific committee and should include:

  • Project full name, acronym, duration (from-to), and URL.
  • Names of presenter(s) and main contributors.
  • Summary of project objectives and expected tangible outputs.
  • The relevance of the project (or one of its work packages) to the Research Challenges in Information Science conference topics.
  • If the project is ongoing: summary of current project results

Five- to eight-page papers shall be formatted as a 1-column CEUR-ART style (templates can be downloaded from http://ceur-ws.org/HOWTOSUBMIT.html). Papers should be submitted via Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=rcis2025) by selecting the “RCIS 2025 Research Projects” track.
